Specialty Flooring
Specialty floors present a solution for areas that may require added safety. Cork and Rubber floorings provide the answer in most cases, especially where slips and falls are of concern.
Cork
Cork is made from the bark of cork oak trees. The bark naturally splits every 9-15 years and can be harvested safely without harming the tree. The bark regrows and the cycle continues for years. Cork is available in tiles and sheet goods. Because it is a natural product, it shows variations in characteristics, shades and tones from tile to tile. It is finished in the same manner as any hardwood floor, but is more durable and forgiving. Cork can be finished natural or in color.
