Sound Masking
The ceiling is the primary acoustical treatment in any space and sound masking is critical in today’s commercial interior environments where employees can be more productive or when patient confidentiality must be safeguarded. Sound masking can absorb, block and cover sound, making it difficult to hear distant conversations. This can be done using baffles, acoustical clouds, diffusers and cover systems. Baffles and acoustical clouds are designed to absorb sound in a space. Cover systems like i-ceilings® by Armstrong integrate sound and wireless technology into ceiling panels that look like the rest of the ceiling panels.
Why sound masking?
- Makes it difficult to hear distant conversations within your space
- Covers over intruding speech from adjacent spaces not absorbed or blocked by architectural design
- Improves workplace effectiveness
- Can eliminate the need to increase construction standards for permanent walls around private offices
