Important Seating Features when Purchasing a Chair

Two greatest health problems associated with sitting seem to be:

1. Sitting upright or forward
- Causes inter-vertebral discs to experience more pressure.
2. Not changing position
- It will generate muscle fatigue.

Solution:
Purchase an ergonomic chair from VerHalen Commercial Interiors with key adjustments as listed below!

Three most important chair adjustments:

1. Seat height from the floor

Feet should be able to rest flat on the floor.

2. Depth of seat pan

Individuals should be able to use the backrest without any pressure behind the knees. Back of the knee is two to three inches forward of the chairs front edge.

3. Backrest height adjustability

Allows lumbar to support the back in different locations for different people.

- It is also important to ensure the computer monitor screen is 18”-24” from the viewer’s eyes and the center of the display is below eye level. The top of the viewing area should be about eye level. Alpha keys and the display monitor should be centered on body line.
