VerHalen Office Employees Get a Chance at Field Work

Today is National Employee Appreciation Day but at VerHalen we decided to make it an entire week! Some of the week’s highlights included a pizza party, several contests and drawings, and a Friday fish fry. On Wednesday, all office employees got the chance to try some hands-on drywall/finishing and acoustical ceilings field work in the warehouse. Our employees were able to truly appreciate what the field does everyday on the job!

2017 Color Forecast

As 2017 grows nearer, many of the top paint companies have announced their predictions for the upcoming year’s color forecast. Will we be seeing more grey? Yes. But we are definitely moving away from the greys and back to warmer, earthier colors. One common trend that we’ve noticed are colors that help foster a comforting and relaxing environment. It’s about creating your own sanctuary in which you can escape from the many stresses of the world. Finding calm is certainly an important and sometimes challenging part of many people’s days. The provider of color systems and leading technology for communication of color, Pantone, has already released its 2017 Pantone® Home + Interiors … Continue reading

Love the Look: Reclaimed Wood

Reclaimed wood gives an interior space texture, warmth and interest but it also charms us with its aged and honest look. Even better, reclaimed wood has a history. Was it at one point in time a part of the structure of a barn? Perhaps a boxcar? One thing’s for sure… There’s something romantic about a material that tells a story of the past.       Oftentimes, reclaimed wood is known for its durability and therefore can be quite expensive. Wood that won’t rot and perish typically needs to be seasoned, air-dried and sometimes dried in a kiln. If you’re looking for highly durable wood you … Continue reading

At this year’s NeoCon 2016, Teknion’s Zones Collection took home “Best of Competition.” Designed by Tom Lloyd and Luke Pearson of PearsonLloyd, a London-based design consultancy, Teknion’s Zones Collection embodies an exploration of design concepts that address the social and technological changes driving behavior at work.   “The boundaries between traditional and emerging work space is breaking down,” said designer Luke Pearson. “People don’t just work in offices; hotels, public transport, cafes and home have become an extension of the office.” Zones is different than the traditional workstation. It combines comfort, function and sophistication and is the perfect collection for collaborative spaces … Continue reading
